How MoltProbe works

Search is moving to AI answers, and agents are starting to shop, book and sign up on behalf of people. MoltProbe tells you whether your site is ready for them. The free probe is a fast look at the technical signals. It runs entirely from your public pages, so there is nothing to install.

The free probe

Four categories, a dozen checks, one score out of 100.

Agent files
We look for llms.txt, llms-full.txt, a skill file, an MCP manifest and ai.txt. These are the files agents read first to figure out what your site offers.
Crawler access
We read robots.txt and check whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and the other AI crawlers are allowed in. A surprising number of sites block them by accident.
Structured data
We check the homepage for JSON-LD, a title, a meta description and OpenGraph tags, the signals that help an agent understand what a page is about.
Legible content
We count the real text in the raw HTML. If a page is empty until JavaScript runs, most agents see nothing. We also look for a sitemap and a feed.

The paid test

Passing the file checks means an agent can find you. It does not prove an agent can actually get anything done. The paid tier drives a real AI agent through the jobs that matter on your site: find a product and reach checkout, sign up for a trial, request a quote, call your API. It tells you where the agent succeeds, where it gets stuck, and alerts you when a change breaks it. Think of it as uptime monitoring, but the visitor is an agent.
